On January 18, 2023, the Hawaii state capitol opened its doors to the public to celebrate Opening Day in honor of the start of the 2023 legislative session! Although the capitol has been open to the public for several months now, this is the first legislative session opening day since the COVID pandemic started three years ago. April Bronowski, APTA Hawaii’s Legislative Committee Chair, attended the day to meet legislators, who provided food and drink receptions for everyone. Of course, there were some legislators that did not have their office open, understandably with COVID. April was able to talk and take a quick photo with the Chairs of the Health Committees, Senator Joy San Buenaventura and Representative Della Au Belatti. Best wishes to all the legislators this session!
