Your Hawaii delegation to APTA’s House of Delegates had a successful and productive meeting. Hawaii put forward the following motions which were adopted:
That APTA shall advocate for federal statutory and regulatory reforms to include doctors of physical therapy under 42 USC § 1395x(r) and 20 CFR 702.404, and elsewhere as appropriate, to ensure doctors of physical therapy are recognized and authorized to practice to the full extent of their licensed scope of practice and to receive payment for all services.
That the American Physical Therapy Association advocate for and promote the consistent use of the ”Doctor of Physical Therapy” title and credential in all contexts.
Your delegation also helped shape several other motions which were adopted. Please see the full House of Delegates minutes on www.apta.org
Dr. Douglas White and Dr. Jasmine Blocker are your delegates. Please reach out if you have questions, want to learn more about the motions, or if you have ideas for the 2027 House of Delegates. Dr.white@miltonortho.com Jblocker17@su.edu
