The physical therapist provides on-going, family-centered physical therapy services to infants and toddlers birth-3.  Although the organization is called United Cerebral Palsy, we do not limit ourselves to children with CP.  The physical therapist will serve children will any kind of physical developmental delay.  The physical therapist is directly responsible to and supervised by the Program Manager.

Part- time position: 20 hours per week

Organization: United Cerebral Palsy Hawaii

Location: Honolulu, Hawaii

Hours: 20 per week as follows: As scheduled during Monday- Friday, 8:00am to 4:00 pm. Certain responsibilities will require work outside those hours. Hours are flexible, with the exception of 2 mandatory weekly meetings.

Areas of responsibility: (Examples are for illustrative purposes. Responsibilities are not limited to specific examples cited.)

o Provide direct physical therapy services, both in person and via tele-practice

o Manage caseloads and maintain client records in accordance with federal, state, and organizational requirements

o Conduct evaluations following enrollment, yearly or more frequently as required

o Prepare written reports of evaluation

o Participate in planning, developing, and implementing strategies to meet the needs of children with a variety of disabilities and their families.

o Prepare service notes, anecdotal notes, and other documentation required by EIS or UCP

o Develop IFSPs as part of a multidisciplinary team. Help families develop outcomes that are functional and based on child and family needs.

o Use coaching method to help families with overall development of child

o Provide training in related areas to staff and parents

o Provide strategies to team members whose families have questions about physical development

o Keep track of all deadlines and important dates. Conduct evaluations, re-evaluations, sessions, and meetings on time.

o Participate in weekly staff meetings and family support team meetings

o Work as part of a team to make decisions that benefit each child and family

SALARY: $35-$45 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

· Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of physical therapy

· State of Hawaii PT license (current)


· Masters Degree from an accredited school of physical therapy

· 2 years experience with pediatric physical therapy

· Experience working as part of a team

A background check will be required and must be passed.


· High level of professionalism, diplomacy, and discretion with the ability to maintain confidentiality and HIPPA requirements

· Working knowledge of child development and developmental disabilities, familiarity with ADA and IDEA guidelines, and inclusion

· Organizational skills to manage time, prioritize, and multi-task

· A positive attitude and high level of flexibility

· Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel on a Mac or PC

· Class 3 driver's license, Access to vehicle with valid insurance
