COURSE DESCRIPTION

This 8-hour course covers the basic skills necessary and to safely begin Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) techniques. In this introductory skills acquisition course, participants will receive hands-on instruction in the proper use of IASTM through a lab-focused teaching format. The course will address proper instrument selection to address body contours and reach target tissues. This course is approved for 11 contact hours.

INSTRUCTOR:

Jayson Goo

 

INSTRUCTOR BIOGRAPHY:

Jayson is a NATABOC certified athletic trainer, certified Kinesio Taping instructor (CKTI), and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) instructor. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Hawaii, and his master’s degree in human performance with a specialty in corrective therapy from San Jose State University. Jayson has been a CKTI since 1998 and has instructed in the United States, Japan, Russia, Brazil, and Europe, most notably for The Football Association of England, Women’s Tennis Association and NCAA Southeastern Conference. 

For the past 32 years, he has worked as a certified athletic trainer at University of Hawaii (Manoa). Jayson has extensive experience with men’s and women’s Division I collegiate athletics and has worked with many professional athletes, fitness professionals, actors, and pageant participants.
