• This evidence-based course is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the skills and knowledge to evaluate and treat a broad range of patients and athletes with vestibular disorders or concussions. You’ll learn to conduct thorough assessments and implement effective, evidence-based treatments for both acute and chronic conditions. The course combines engaging lectures with hands-on lab sessions to ensure practical learning. Additionally, you will gain insights into clinical decision-making for cases requiring multidisciplinary referrals when patients face prolonged recovery. By the end of this course, you’ll have the confidence and expertise to manage vestibular disorders and concussions with precision and care.

INSTRUCTOR:
Michael Steiner, PT, DPT, ITPT

INSTRUCTOR BIOGRAPHY:

• Dr. Steiner is a Physical Therapist, husband and father. He currently works clinically for Twin Cities Orthopedics in the Minnesota metro area where he is the lead physical therapist for their Sport Concussion Program, and he is also the author of The Concussion Recovery Plan. Dr. Steiner has an unmatched passion to help those who have suffered concussion injuries. His vision is to push the boundaries of what we think we know about concussions and how we recover from these unique injuries.

  Certifications and Achievements: In 2015 Dr. Steiner received his certification in vestibular rehabilitation from the American Institute of Balance and became a credentialed clinical instructor through the APTA. In 2016 he then received a certification in concussion rehabilitation also from the American Institute of Balance. In 2017 he completed the ImPACT trained Physical Therapist program and, in doing so, obtained the ImPACT trained Physical Therapist Credential. In 2021 he was accepted as a Member of the MN Department of Human Services TBI Advisory Committee, where he held that position for 2 years.

• Education and Training: Dr. Steiner graduated from Minnesota State University – Mankato in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. He was then accepted into the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN, which he graduated from in 2011. After graduating from St. Scholastica he started working for Northfield Hospital & Clinics in Northfield, MN. During this time, he helped to develop the Northfield Hospital & Clinics Concussion Program. In 2015 Dr. Steiner then began working for Twin Cities Orthopedics. Just as he did in Northfield, he has been working to help build the concussion program for Twin Cities Orthopedics which started with just one physical therapist and has continued to grow now offering rehabilitation services for concussion and vestibular patients at 17 locations by 23 different Physical Therapists throughout the Twin Cities metro area. Then in 2023, he was integral in designing and launching a dedicated sport concussion clinic for Twin Cities Orthopedics.
