LIFE SUPPORT REQUIREMENT
All Hawaii PT licensees are required to complete FOUR hours of education in life support for health care professionals before December 31, 2024. The law states that the training shall be comparable to, or more advanced than the American Heart Association’s basic life support health care provider course.  As such, the Board has said that all in person courses provided by the American Heart Association should meet this requirement.

To find a course near you and for more information on their courses, please visit the American Heart Association website.

JURISPRUDENCE REQUIREMENT
All Hawaii PT licensees are required to complete a TWO hour course on Ethics and Jurisprudence before December 31, 2024. The board will only accept a course on Hawaii’s laws and rules taught by an authorized provider. The Board will not accept a course on any other state or jurisdiction’s laws and rules. The Board has previously approved the following jurisprudence course providers. Make sure to double check the approved course list linked above to verify that the course/provider is approved for the current continuing education cycle.
